D Skelton & Sons was established in 1932 and followed the trends of traditional arable farming. In the late 60’s and early 70’s they made the transition from bulb farming into vegetable growing. With 898 acres, over 800 of those acres are purely dedicated to arable Farming.
As many others in the Sherwood Group, Bishop Field Farm is also a sand land farm. After the transition from bulb farming to vegetable farming, Don Skelton first started with potatoes. The business continued to grow further and that is when a small amount of Carrots were introduced over 12 years ago into the product mix. As they expanded to greater crop yield and Bishop Field Farm became part of the Sherwood Group, their product portfolio also grew. They now farm Leeks, Parsnips, Carrots, Onions, Potatoes, Beetroot, Sugar Beet and Cereals.
They continue to offer a variety of crops to the highest possible standards, by using traditional and modern day farming methods!
