The Hammond Family has farmed for over a century. We still operate a fully commercial farm next to Hammond Produce just outside of Nottingham.
Within eight years we’ve established the company as a major supplier to all segments of the market, growing every year to a group turnover exceeding 20m.
Our success is a result of a progressive attitude to business and over 100 years experience in farming. We invest in technology, the environment and people.
The Environmental Business Plan is our commitment to the future.
Hammond is serious about environmental change. We’ve made significant investment in technology that reduced the environmental impact of our facilities. Minimising environmental damage is central to our business plan. We are currently planning a major development that will result in a fully sustainable manufacturing facility and fleet of vehicles that run on Bio Diesel.
Ethical Employment and Rewarding Achievements
At Hammonds we don’t believe in exploiting foreign workers for cheap labour. Apart from the fact we think it’s immoral it creates an unstable workforce and ultimately a lower level of service. We encourage a culture of respect, honesty which results in an environment of hard working and committed people.
Our seasonal staff earn at least minimal wage and are given respectful working conditions. We’ve invested in technology to monitor the performance so we can reward good work with performance related pay.
We have also assisted DEFRA to help introduce licensing of Gangmasters through the establishment of the Gangmaster Licensing Authority.
