Sherwood Produce was created in 2002 and comprises a group of 8 East Midlands based farmers and growers; between us we farm almost 6,500 hectares (16,000 acres) in and around Sherwood Forest. We grow both conventional and organic crops, and our members operate as one through centralised crop planning, agronomy, harvesting, marketing and distribution. The group ethos is to sensitively combine modern food production with environmental protection, both at a local and global scale.
Customers range from multiple retailers through every variant in between down to stock-feed purchasers; our aim is to find a market for all grades of product to reduce waste and increase grower reward. The scale of the land-base enables the group to ensure continuity of supply whilst maintaining absolute integrity of the product from field to fork.
